Victor Juhasz : Box Art - I was born in Newark, New Jersey, 1954. My parents were immigrants, displaced from the wreck of post World War II Eastern Europe. No surprisingly, the first images I remember drawing were those of soldiers and war. My first professionally published piece was in 1974 for the New York Times while I was still studying at Parsons in NYC.Date: November 7, 2015 through January 5, 2016

Love a Vet: Honoring Our Veterans at The Norman Rockwell Museum.

The Norman Rockwell Museum is currently hosting the original art from “52 Reasons to Love a Vet”. This special exhibition honors the sacrifices of veterans, calling attention to the struggles that many face upon their re-entry into civilian life. “Who stands ready to take care of those men and women upon their return when they are all too often disabled, disillusioned, or disheartened?” pondered exhibition organizer Ella Rue, mother of a veteran, and Director of Marketing for Academic Programs and Events at New Jersey City University.

Register and attend the Opening Reception on Saturday, November 7 from 6pm to 8pm.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, November 4 or call 413-931-2264

The Harold B. Lemmerman Gallery at New Jersey City University is pleased to host 52 Reasons to Love a Vet, a traveling exhibit that promotes awareness of the need for more comprehensive health coverage and education for veterans and raises funds to support the cause.

With its numerical component representing the number of playing cards in a standard deck, 52 Reasons to Love a Vet consists of “playing cards” created by world-renowned illustrators specifically for this project. Playing cards, prints and posters of the images, and project books will be sold during the exhibition and are also available online.

The project was developed by Ella Rue ’05 M.A., the mother of a two-time veteran. Admission fees will be donated to the NJCU Foundation and will benefit NJCU student veterans. All additional proceeds from sales of playing cards, limited edition prints and books will benefit the 52 Reasons to Love a Vet Fund launched in 2015 by the Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation.
